Cass Information Systems, Inc. Joins Russell 2000(R) Index

ST. LOUIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 10, 2006--Cass Information Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ: CASS) is now part of the Russell 2000(R) Index, which reconstituted June 30, 2006. Making the announcement was Eric H. Brunngraber, CASS president and chief operating officer.

Annual reconstitution of the Russell 3000 captures the 3,000 largest U.S. stocks as of the end of May, ranking them by total market capitalization. The largest 1,000 companies in the ranking comprise the Russell 1000(R) Index while the remaining 2,000 companies become the Russell 2000(R) Index. Final index membership remains in place for one year.

The reconstitution process is followed closely by many investors because the Russell indexes currently have $3.8 trillion in assets benchmarked to them and account for an industry-leading 54% of all institutional investment products that use a benchmark.
